Overview
Odoo.sh is Odoo's official cloud platform for hosting Enterprise instances. DeployMonkey is an independent Odoo hosting platform with AI-powered administration. Both deploy and manage Odoo instances, but they differ in approach, pricing, features, and flexibility.

Community Edition Support
This is a fundamental difference. Odoo.sh only hosts Enterprise instances, requiring an Enterprise subscription ($24-44/user/month minimum). DeployMonkey hosts both Community and Enterprise editions. If you want managed Odoo hosting without Enterprise licensing costs, Odoo.sh is not an option.
AI-Powered Administration
DeployMonkey includes an AI agent that understands Odoo architecture. It can configure modules, troubleshoot errors, analyze logs, optimize performance, and guide you through complex setups using natural language. Ask it to set up your chart of accounts, configure tax rules, or debug a failing cron job — it handles these tasks conversationally.
Odoo.sh has no AI administration features. Configuration and troubleshooting require manual intervention or hiring an Odoo consultant.
Development Workflow
Odoo.sh's development workflow is its strongest feature. Git-based deployment with branch-to-environment mapping — push to a branch and get a running instance. Production, staging, and development branches with automatic builds, test execution, and one-click deployment. For development teams, this workflow is polished and efficient.
DeployMonkey focuses on deployment and management rather than development workflow. You deploy custom modules via Git, but the branch-based staging workflow is less integrated than Odoo.sh. For teams that do heavy custom development, Odoo.sh's workflow is superior.
Server Control
DeployMonkey provides full SSH access to your server. Install system packages, configure nginx, run scripts, access PostgreSQL directly. You have root-level control over your infrastructure when you need it.
Odoo.sh provides a web-based shell with limited system access. You can run Odoo shell commands and access logs, but system-level configuration is restricted. This trade-off improves security but limits flexibility.
Pricing
Odoo.sh pricing is tied to your Enterprise subscription. The platform cost starts at approximately $20/month per worker, plus your Enterprise license fees. A typical deployment costs $100-500/month for the platform alone, on top of per-user licensing.
DeployMonkey pricing is based on your hosting plan. Plans start significantly lower since Community Edition requires no per-user licensing. Even with Enterprise, the hosting platform costs are competitive, and the AI agent is included in all plans.
Backup and Recovery
Both platforms offer daily automated backups and on-demand backup creation. Odoo.sh retains backups based on your plan. DeployMonkey provides configurable backup retention, download capability, and one-click restore. Both are reliable for disaster recovery.
Performance
Odoo.sh runs on Odoo's optimized infrastructure with CDN, caching, and pre-configured worker settings. Performance is consistent and well-tuned for Odoo workloads.
DeployMonkey deploys on infrastructure providers you choose (Vultr, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, etc.), giving you control over server specs and location. Performance depends on your chosen server, but DeployMonkey optimizes Odoo configuration for your hardware automatically.
